It was originally served on pumpernickel bread, but it is also popularly made using rye bread. The Reuben sandwiches that are available in modern world are mostly open faced and broiled. Because of this, the corned beef dry out to the atmosphere and the cheese inside the bread becomes rubbery. Some of the restaurant’s sandwich makers have a belief that the more is the stuffing inside the bread, the tastier is the sandwich. But, this is not always true and leaves the bread overstuffed. To make the Reuben Sandwich tasty and mouth watering, it is important to keep in mind the proper balance of the filling and under control. So that when you bite into the sandwich, you get a harmonious and juicy mouthful piece. Here is one of the most apt recipes to prepare a splendid and delicious Reuben Sandwich. This recipe will help you to enjoy the sandwich, which is homemade. Thus, once the recipe is known, one can enjoy it by just getting the ingredients from the market, then preparing it at home. Thus, the ingredients required for Reuben Sandwich are as follows * A tablespoon of butter is required which is already softened. If not make sure that it is done before using it. * Eight slices of rye bread is required along with slices of Swiss cheese. * ¾ lb of corned beef brisket, it should be thinly sliced. * ½ lb of sauerkraut is needed along with ¼ cup of Russian dressing If you are finding difficulty in what are the ingredients that exactly make up the Russian dressing, then here is a way out. For the Russian dressing one needs to combine all the following ingredients. If the proportion as to what is mentioned is taken, then it makes some where around one and a half cup of the dressing. * 1/3 cup of mayonnaise * 1 ½ tablespoon of ketchup * 1 ½ teaspoons of prepared horseradish * 1 ½ teaspoon of prepared Worcestershire sauce * Salt to taste along with freshly ground black pepper. The method and the procedure to follow while preparing the Reuben sandwich is that Initially butter one side of the four slices of the bread. Then place the buttered side down on a flat surface or wax paper. Add the topping of Swiss cheese on it, and later on divide half of the corned beef among them. The next step would be to squeeze out excess of moisture from the sauerkraut. Divide the sauerkraut among the sandwiches, and add one tbsp of Russian dressing. Add one more slice of Swiss cheese and a layer of corned beef to each sandwich. Butter the remaining side facing outside of the slice. When the initial step is done, pre heat the frying pan to medium heat. Cook it one side until it becomes golden brown. Then turn over carefully to the other side, when one side is cooked. Thus, your delicious Reuben sandwich is ready, and can be served by cutting it into two pieces.
